55 years young at the Carillon Club
In April of 2024, busloads of 55-and-over residents set out for French Lick, Indiana to watch the eclipse, a normal pastime at the Carillon Club. “I have to remind people sometimes that it’s not just for old people,” explains Dale Corboy, a long-time resident and broker associate with Baird & Warner Real Estate. “There are older residents, of course, but we also have young 55-year-olds! Residents can continue their professions here, and plenty of retirees do volunteer work. It’s very diverse, not just in ethnicity or religion, but in age, too.” The gated neighborhood not only hosts events throughout the year but provides an array of amenities, including a community garden, fitness center and golf course. When paired with all that Naperville has to offer, residents are well-positioned for convenience and comfortability.

A convenient and active lifestyle
Convenient activities are a must in the Carillon Club, where homebuyers typically relocate with the intention of participating. Walking paths throughout the area pair well with a gazebo where residents can meet. "You see people walking and biking all the time, and there are a lot of dogs,” Corboy explains. Additional amenities, including an indoor and outdoor pool, as well as a children’s pool for visiting family members. The community garden bursts with fresh tomatoes in late summer, while the three-hole golf course is practice territory for the Carillon Golf Club. “On Sunday mornings, you see a bunch of people out there. It’s only three holes, but somehow, they manage to play nine,” Corboy continues. From a craft room with kilns to a variety of ball courts and even a fitness center, residents hardly have to leave the grounds for recreation. Eileen Obradovich, Lifestyle Director at Carillon Club, even says there are over thirty clubs, including sewing, wine tasting and pickleball. “They have a lot going on, fitness classes and sports activities. It’s all very neighborly. People come out running to greet one another.”
The outskirts of Carillon Club are very walkable with wide paved paths.

Maintenance-free living in Chicagoland
The Carillon Club’s townhomes and single-family builds were constructed between 2007 and 2017. Most are modern Craftsman influenced and accompanied by sidewalks running along square lawns regularly maintained by the club. Grass-cutting and mulching are completed on a cycle throughout the year. “They snow plow in the winter and even resurface your driveway every other year! It’s considered a maintenance-free community,” Corboy says. Homes often include patios and heated sunrooms, with single-family ranch styles selling for $550,000 to nearly $800,000. Alternatively, townhomes are typically sold for between $360,000 and $500,000. Property isn’t usually a priority for homebuyers, as most lots are less than 9,000 square feet. Corboy suggests that “if you want more land, you find a property on the perimeter.”
Two-story townhouses with shared backyards offer both privacy & community in Carillon Club.

Festivities and field trips with fellow residents
The Carillon Club’s planning committee hosts a series of events throughout the year, including Oktoberfest, a St. Patrick’s Day party and even a concert series in the warmer months. The catering kitchen onsite services the New Year’s Eve party and annual summer pig roast. “There are trips too,” Corboy says. “A lot of people went down to French Lick, Indiana, to watch the eclipse. There were two whole busloads of people!” From Cubs games to casinos and trips to the theatre, groups of residents gather throughout the year to take in all that Chicago has to offer. “You can be involved or do nothing; it’s totally up to you,” Corboy continues. “That’s what really attracts people. You have options.”
Naperville’s central shopping and dining hub
The intersection of 95th Street and Route 59 is less than a mile from the Carillon Club’s front gates, where shopping and dining options abound. Jewel-Osco and ALDI are the closest markets, surrounded by international eats from a weekend brunch buffet at Sara’s Pakistani & Indian Cuisine to classic Tuscan entrees at Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano. Houlihan’s is a local favorite for classic American fare, along with Andy’s Frozen Custard, a Midwestern staple. An added bonus is the AMC theater practically within walking distance of the community. Route 59 provides more shopping options such as Whole Foods, Costco, Home Depot and Walmart.

Riding the Metra into Downtown Chicago
Residents of the Carillon Club are largely car-dependent. While the 40-mile commute to Downtown Chicago is made easier by the Route 59 Metra, it does require a 6-mile drive north to access. Several commuter lots are available for parking, while the train ride itself takes about an hour. Those driving can rely on Interstates 290 and 88, though traffic will most likely cause delays. Chicago Midway International Airport is about 35 miles into the commute on I-55. Bus stops are offered along Route 59 for local travel but are not within walking distance of the community. Bike lanes, though, are provided on 95th Street for a leisurely ride to the store. The nearest emergency room is located at Rush Copley Medical Center, 4 miles northwest on Route 34.
Residents of Carillon Club love the accessibility of the 59th Street Metra stop.
