Quiet lifestyle close to downtown
Buffered in most areas by trees and thick foliage with narrow country roads winding through, Deer Lick Place gives off a rural vibe despite being located just 6 miles from downtown Paducah and 2 miles from the restaurants, shops and galleries of Midtown. While the residential streets may lack sidewalks, this doesn’t stop residents from getting out and about. "We are seeing more people out riding their bikes or walking their dogs," says Laura Petrie, a Realtor with Elite Realty and a long-time Paducah resident.
Shopping mall is close
For shopping and dining, residents can either go downtown or head to the Kentucky Oaks Mall, home to over 100 stores and chain restaurants, located 2 miles away. O’Charley's Restaurant and Bar is a local chain, serving American cuisine and comfort food in a relaxed setting. Alligator tail is on the menu at Strickland Seafood Restaurant, and it's very popular. “People order it all the time,” says J.J. Jackson, a four-year restaurant manager. “It’s fried and cut into small pieces as an appetizer.” The eatery is also known for its shrimp and crab gumbo, crawfish and oysters. T.J. Maxx, The Home Depot and a Walmart Supercenter are all within 3 miles to the west of the neighborhood, and Kroger is a 4-mile drive to the northeast.
