Bilingual learning at Eugenio Maria de Hostos School

As a part of the Philadelphia City School District, Melrose Park Gardens children can attend Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School for kindergarten through eighth grade. Rated a C-minus on Niche, this local primary school offers a bilingual academic experience in English and Spanish. Starting in fifth grade, students can go to Grover Washington Jr. Middle School, where they can learn in classrooms with a 12 to 1 student-teacher ratio. This school received an overall C-minus rating on Niche and an A-minus for diversity. Melrose Park Gardens teens can take Advanced Placement courses at the local Samuel Fels High School, which Niche rated an overall C-minus.

Summer movie nights at Fisher Park

Melrose Park Station connects to Center City

Melrose Park Gardens is very walkable, with crosswalks connecting the sidewalks and a 78 walkability score. Residents can take a 19-mile drive to the Philadelphia International Airport via Route 13 and Interstate 95. At the intersection of Valley Road and Mill Road, Melrose Park Station is a regional railway station that is part of the SEPTA or Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority.
