Pueblo's newest neighborhood

Established in 2023, North Vista is Pueblo’s newest neighborhood. It’s a subdivision, located in the northeast section of the city, and it was created to accommodate Pueblo’s increasing popularity. “We wanted to create a master-planned community with convenience,” says David Resnick, owner of the North Vista subdivision. “Pueblo is a less expensive market than other cities like Denver, and it’s an area with growth and optimism.” As is, North Vista is quiet and relatively isolated with a few single-family homes, but new commercial retail and parks are scheduled to arrive within the next few years, Resnick says.

Larger ranch, Contemporary, and Craftsman homes

Construction on North Vista started in 2023. In July of the following year, the neighborhood was mostly a collection of houses and a park. Soon, however, residents will be able to walk to newly-built amenities. “We’re in the beginning phases, where we could very well have a clubhouse in the near future,” Resnick says. The community will eventually hold a mixture of townhomes, apartments and single-family homes. Existing houses are primarily ranches along with two-story contemporary and craftsman styles. The current smaller homes are usually under 1,800 square feet, while the area’s largest houses could span more than 4,000 square feet. Standard amenities include two-car garages and smaller yards. Neighbors can customize their homes with extra garage space or different placement of the patios. Home prices range from $350,000 for a rancher to $725,000 for a two-story house.

Nicer upgrades to Tobias T. Park

North Vista currently has one community green space, Tobias T. Park. “It’s a smaller park. It has a playground, gazebo and picnic tables,” Resnick says. “The park has the foam matting on the ground instead of mulch. We did those kinds of things to make it nicer.” University Park has a playground and picnic tables a mile south of the neighborhood. Walking Stick Golf Course is a public 18-hole course 1.5 miles south. Outside of the golf course, Walking Stick also has a driving range, restaurant and pro shop.

Two miles to nearest shopping and dining

As of July 2024, residents must travel at least 2 miles to reach the shopping and dining area around Highway 50. However, Resnick says that a goal for the community is to include retail like a coffee shop or office space. For now, residents can travel to Jerry Murphy Road to reach Riverside Bar and Grill, a laid-back eatery that serves their take on the Slopper and hosts local performers weekly. Taqueria Marquez is 5 miles south, serving authentic Mexican staples like burritos. Natural Grocers and King Soopers are available for groceries. Nearby are big-box stores like Target and the Pueblo Mall, which holds over 50 stores including JOANN Fabrics and Dillard’s.

Car dependent area for new neighborhood

There’s no public transit in North Vista, because it’s brand-new. Drivers can reach Highway 50 south using 47th Street and Jerry Murphy Road. From there, it’s easy to access Interstate 25, which travels north and south through the mountain region.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students.
