Convenient township between major job hubs with popular businesses and amenities
Located at a crossroads of highways halfway between New York City and Philadelphia, the Central Jersey community of Robbinsville Township offers commuters a convenient and aesthetic home just a short drive from the state capital of Trenton. Robbinsville’s history dates to the late 17th century, but this town only acquired its current name in 2008 — it was previously known as “Washington Township.” The township has evolved from a rail suburb of Philadelphia into a commuter hub for New York, Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore with the construction of major highways in the 1970s, giving it excellent access to the state’s major employment and population centers. “Having raised my kids here, and having no intention of leaving anytime soon, it’s a phenomenal place to grow up and retire to,” says Theza Friedman, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage-Princeton Jc, who’s lived in the area for over 20 years.
Variety of late-20th-century single-family houses and townhomes
Robbinsville’s streetscapes are defined by an abundance of colonial-style homes, inspired by Robbinsville’s rich history. Colonial and federal-style homes line Newtown Boulevard and the town’s many residential side streets. The Town Center neighborhood of Robbinsville is home to Central Boulevard, which runs from the grassy Burnet Crescent in the south to the circular North Park across the town’s lakes. Meanwhile, the Foxmoor community, built from the late 1980s to early 1990s, includes large townhomes and individual colonial homes, offering a variety of housing options to aspiring homeowners. Homes here tend to stay on the market for about three weeks and typically sell for between $700,000 to $1 million. According to the CAP Index, the neighborhood gets an overall crime score of 2/10, which is below the national average of 4/10.

Popular local businesses like Dolce & Clemente’s and DeLorenzo’s Tomato Pies
For general shopping needs, residents can visit ShopRite of Hamilton Square or ALDI. Dolce & Clemente’s is a popular local Italian market with fresh deli meats and baked goods. Another unique shop in town is the Country Gardens & Gourmet Deli farmers’ market, which sells fresh produce, baked goods and cheeses. There are also popular local restaurants nearby, like DeLorenzo’s Tomato Pies, which has been in business since 1947 and attracts large crowds with its make-your-own pizzas and birch beer soda. Papa’s Tomato Pies dates back even further, having been founded in 1912 and passed down through the same family. This restaurant offers its signature pizza, as well as large plates of antipasto and homemade cannoli. “Can’t forget about Bagels n’ Cream, it’s everyone’s favorite bagel place in Robbinsville,” adds Friedman.

The weather does not affect the businesses to a negative extent as often as in the West Coast, Florida, and the South. Just like in the East Coast, Robbinsville has warm summers and cold winters, but snow/blizzards are not as dangerous (unlike this rare year).

If you want a safe cookie-cutter life for you and your family then Robbinsville is the best choice for you. Not a very exciting town, however. A sense of community is pretty much nonexistent.
