Planned San Antonio community close to major attractions

Weston Oaks is a master-planned community in the heart of Northwest San Antonio that offers state-of-the-art amenities, contemporary housing styles and proximity to noteworthy landmarks like SeaWorld and Lackland Air Force Base. The neighborhood is still being developed, as is the area around it. "Weston Oaks was one of the first communities that was established on Potranco Road," says Realtor Kellie Daniels of Coldwell Banker. "But now there is so much growth around it. They are still building, but it's pretty established." New Traditional architecture defines this neighborhood, with curvilinear streets that offer a distinctly suburban feel 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio. Though only a small, residential pocket, Weston Oaks’ distinct personality as a modern community close to modern conveniences appeals to homeowners looking for a connected lifestyle outside San Antonio. "The location outside of Loop 1604 is close to many other highways and is very convenient for commuters and employees of the Air Force base." Additionally, Weston Oaks is exempt from city taxes and has a lower Cap Index Crime Score than the national figure, at 3 out of 10, as compared to the national average of 4.

New Traditional styles developed in the last decade

View Homes and Perry Homes, two of Texas’ largest development companies, built most of the new homes lining Weston Oaks’ orderly residential streets. "These builds are different in design than what the builders were traditionally making," Daniels says. With New Traditional and transitional architecture styles, the homes blend contemporary designs rooted in Craftsman, cottage and French influences. While exteriors vary between brick, stone and stucco, residences boast innovative kitchens, energy-saving features, smart-home technology and extensive landscaping. Sizes range from three to five bedrooms with two- to three-car garages, and prices typically hover between $300,000 and $750,000. Daniels notes that more established housing in the neighborhood typically reflects a lower price point than the newer builds. Homeowners should also expect to pay additional annual HOA fees.

Strong academics in Northside ISD

Students are part of the highly rated Northside Independent School District, which earns a B-plus from Niche. Edmund Lieck Elementary School is located within the neighborhood and gets a B grade. Kids may continue to the B-minus rated Luna Middle School and B-rated Brennan High School. In 2024, the Brennan High School cheer squad was crowned the highest-scoring team in their division at the National Cheerleaders Association National Championships. Weston Oaks residents are also close to Northwest Vista College, a community college offering programs such as early childhood education and technology-related fields, such as cybersecurity and computer science.

On-site recreational amenities and proximity to SeaWorld

The Weston Oaks Clubhouse is a centrally located hub for recreation within the neighborhood. Besides its newly updated clubhouse, the property features two pools, a playground and sports courts, including tennis courts. Walking and biking trails connect from the clubhouse to a network of trails within the community. The neighborhood is also close to major attractions like SeaWorld, which features aquariums, thrill rides and experiences with dolphins and penguins. Nearby golf courses include Briggs Ranch Golf Club and the Golf Club of Texas San Antonio.

Fast-casual dining spots and groceries nearby

Situated off Potranco Road, Weston Oaks puts residents close to the major thoroughfare’s commercial corridor, with access to grocers, stores and restaurants. National retailers such as TJ Maxx and Kohl’s cluster alongside fast-food chains like Whataburger and local BBQ joints. Along with banks, pharmacies and other smaller retailers, the commercial corridor also provides access to grocery options like Walmart, Costco and H-E-B. Local restaurants close to the neighborhood include staples like Killer Burger, CosMc’s and Mexican Cowboy Street Kitchen, a small outpost serving tacos, quesadillas and other Tex-Mex specialties.

Convenient thoroughfares and additional nearby services

Weston Oaks is conveniently located close to Loop 1604, which connects to Highway 90 and puts residents about 23 miles from the heart of San Antonio. Highways 211 and 151 are also nearby. The San Antonio International Airport is less than 20 miles away. The closest hospital is CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital in Westover Hills, and Lackland Air Force Base sits a few miles south of the neighborhood along Highway 90.
