When you think of classic suburbia where your neighbors know your name, it's hard not to think of Olympic Manor. Situated on Seattle's northwestern side, this community is mainly residential, with long stretches of sidewalk-lined streets and some roads that end in cul-de-sacs, giving residents additional privacy. Most homes in Olympic Manor were built around the neighborhood's inception in the 1950s, providing prospective residents with a selection of midcentury homes that'll feel like a step back in time. Despite the age, there is still an abundance of move-in ready homes in the neighborhood, including ramblers with enclosed garages and front porches that can be priced from $800,000 up to $1.6 million. Due to the community's uphill streetscape, many homes provide scenic Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains views.

Though Olympic Manor is a small neighborhood, it is packed with community spirit, especially when residents participate in the annual Christmas Lights show that lights up the streets. You can also get to know your neighbors at the occasional community social events.

Public schools are within walking distance for many children. Many students will attend North Beach Elementary School, which offers various enrichment programs, including coding classes and Spanish language learning, among many others. Whitman Middle School is also just a short walk or bike ride away for many children in the neighborhood. Whitman Middle is an A-rated school, according to Niche, and not only fosters a great academic environment but also has various extracurriculars available for students to find their niche. Ingraham High School has also received an A rating, boasting an 89 percent graduation rate in its last class.

After classes, students are close to Soundview Playfield, an outdoor activities hub with various athletic courts and fields and a wading pool to cool off during the summer. The neighborhood is surrounded by plenty of outdoor areas if you want to get outside for some fresh air. You can go for a peaceful nature walk at North Beach Park or relax on the sandy shores of Golden Gardens Park. Nestled along Puget Sound, this expansive park features long stretches of hiking trails, fishing piers and an off-leash dog area for your pup to burn off some energy.

Looking for a bite to eat? There are plenty of options along Holman Road. You can start your morning with a latte and a tasty breakfast sandwich from Turtle Coffee, but if you need a quick pick-me-up while heading to work, stop at Gourmet Latte. For classic American fare, head to Dick's Drive-In, a popular spot for a late-night bite or an afternoon lunch. Thirsty Fish is the local watering hole, offering pub grub and a great hometown vibe. Stop by the Metropolitan Market for fresh produce, fruits and prepared meals, and there are also plenty of options at Grocery Outlet.

Olympic Manor's convenient location near downtown Seattle means that commuters won't have to spend too much time in traffic, and there's an abundance of public transportation stops nearby as well. Though the homes throughout Olympic Manor may seem like a walk into the past, there's much to love about it in the here and now.
