Sitting across the Hillsborough River from Downtown Tampa, North Hyde Park mixes convenient commercial development with various housing styles. The walkable community offers several public transportation options. North Hyde Park has restaurants, shops and entertainment spread across the neighborhood instead of a primary business district. "It is a very social area with a lot of young people," says Jeff Randall, a broker with Mainhouse Realty Associates who hasover 20 years of experience. "There is a lot going on there – lots of clubs, restaurants and social activities." The University of Tampa is in the neighborhood, and several highly-ranked schools are nearby.
North Hyde Park is also very bicycle friendly with trails, sidewalks and resting areas.
Water activities are certainly an option in North Hyde Park with newly built docks.

Authentic Mexican food from Nacho's Tacos
The Lab Coffee sits in the center of North Hyde Park, serving specialty coffee and pastries in a garage-style interior. Nacho's Tacos serves authentic Mexican from a food truck outside Big Mike's Food Mart. Patrons praise the loaded fries and fresh tortilla tacos. Chicago Paulie's is a modest hot dog restaurant in the parking lot of a Neep Qwik gas station, offering Italian beef and Polish sausages. Hooch and Hive is near the neighborhood's eastern edge, where live music fills the air and visitors enjoy cocktails, sliders and comfort dishes. There is a Walmart Neighborhood Market near West Kennedy Boulevard and several chains like Wendy's, McDonald's and Starbucks.

Ranch-style, bungalows and contemporary homes
Modest mid-century bungalows and ranch-style homes are common in North Hyde Park. Prices typically range from around $200,000 to $560,000. Larger contemporary homes with a garage and fenced backyard generally cost between $750,000 and $950,000. "Lots of old homes are being taken down, with newer ones replacing them," Randall says. Modern townhouses on the western edge of the neighborhood can range from $750,000 to $875,000, depending on whether they have two or three bedrooms. Street parking is limited in the area. However, many homes have driveways or garages. Oak and palm trees are seen throughout the area, while sidewalks are scarce.

Strong athletic background at Jefferson High
North Hyde Park students may be part of the Hillsborough County Public School District. Niche ranked the district as the second-best district in the Tampa area and gave it a B-plus. Gorrie Elementary School receives an A-minus from Niche. Wilson Middle School also gets an A-minus grade from Niche and is the oldest operating school in the state. Teenagers may attend Jefferson High School, which earns a B from Niche. Jefferson High is known for its athletics, with over 20 professional athletes as alumni, including MLB Hall-of-Famer Tony La Russa. The University of Tampa is a private university in the neighborhood that offers over 200 programs and majors.

Walking distance to downtown with public transportation access
North Hyde Park is a walkable area less than a mile from Downtown. The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit authority, or HART, offers a handful of neighborhood stops along Cypress Street. HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is the nearest medical facility, about 1 mile south. Interstate 275 is the neighborhood's northern boundary and a major thoroughfare out of the area, leading to the Tampa International Airport 5 miles away. Clearwater and St. Petersburg are slightly over 20 miles away across old Tampa Bay. "There are lots of ways to get around; a lot of electric bikes and scooters to get Downtown," Randall says.

Running and walking along the Tampa Riverwalk
Plant Park is a neighborhood park between the University of Tampa campus and Hillsborough River. "It's a smallish space right on the river that is great for photos and the scenery," says Lawrence Hollyfield, the communications coordinator for Tampa Parks and Recreation. Palm and oak trees provide shade throughout the park. The Plant Park Fountain draws attention near the park's center, with tall architectural designs and cement walking paths circling the fountain. Across the river is the Tampa Riverwalk, a popular destination for walkers and joggers for the scenic views of the river and Downtown Tampa. The Armature Works is a popular stop at the northern edge of the Riverwalk. "It's like a food court but upgraded," Hollyfield says. "There are a bunch of great restaurants, bars, lounges and outdoor seating; it's popular seven days a week." The Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex offers turf fields and spectator stands for lacrosse and other activities on West Kennedy Boulevard.

Winter Village holiday celebration
Nearby Downtown hosts holiday events throughout the year. One of the most popular festivities is the Winter Village, where Curtis Hixon Park is transforedm by the sounds and decorations of the holiday season, including a light show and ice-skating rink. Downtown hosts a Fourth of July celebration and a St. Patrick's Day Parade. The Gasparilla Pirate Festival attracts thousands of people.
