Wilsonville has a rich history dating back to the late 1800s

Rich in history, the community is home to Confederate forts that date back to the early 1800s along with an original railroad depot, the first in the county, and one of the first steam plants in the state. Wilsonville is prepared for and expects some residential growth in the near future thanks to the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant along the Coosa River that will be able to better serve the growing population.
