About Woodhaven, MI

About Woodhaven, MI

Interstate 75 cuts straight through the Woodhaven neighborhood, which makes nearby shopping only an exit away from your respective cul-de-sac. As you drive into the subdivisions, you will notice neighbors waving along well-manicured lawns and mature trees lining the streets.

When out for a stroll in Woodhaven, you are protected from street traffic with paved sidewalks that run throughout the neighborhood. “It’s unique, a lot of bigger, colonial homes, your average $300,000 to $350,000 homes,” says Agent Cara Pimer of Source Realty, who has four years of experience serving Woodhaven and the surrounding area. Along your walk, you will also come across many contemporary craftsmen, ranch-style and split-level homes; each with ample space in the backyard. Most of these homes were built between the 1970s and 1990s. While you can walk along paths that extend out parallel to the main roads, it is not uncommon to hop in the car to run errands.

“A lot move here for the schools. It’s the programming they offer, the facilities, just altogether well done,” Pimer says about the Woodhaven-Brownstone School District. Bates Elementary School holds a B grade from Niche and has an 18-1 student-teacher ratio. At Boyd W. Arthurs Middle School, a B-plus grade school by Niche, students can try out for various athletics without fear of rejection because the school’s athletic program has a “No Cut” policy. Students will later attend Woodhaven High School, which received a Grade of A from Niche. There, students are afforded the chance to earn an associate degree while working toward their high school diplomas.

Traveling down Interstate 75, you can catch a glimpse of all the lights and action down at Civic Center Park. “The Civic Center Park offers a lot of different events and a lot of programs for the community, like the senior programming,” Pimer says. There are four seasons of fun and seasonal events, like the Annual Tree Lighting or Community Festival in July. Among the main attractions offered, there is a hockey rink, a splash pad and the Big Timber playscape for kids to enjoy. Civic Center Park also has fitness and walking trails for getting in your daily steps. A more private park option and playground can be found within the Woodhall Forest subdivision, also known as Deerfield Park, established in 1989.

Down Allen Road, you can shop away the day. From Woodhaven Commons, which has big box stores like HomeGoods and Target, you can jump across the street to Walmart or cross over West Road to get to Kohl’s or Aldi for groceries. There are many traditional chain restaurants in the Woodhaven area, like Buffalo Wild Wings and McDonald’s, Sparta Family Dining and Coney Island, which is a local spot where you can get breakfast and lunch basics from the booth, table or bar-top seating. For those sweet tooth cravings, Tony Cannoli Sweets and Eats has been serving Italian baked goods in the community since 2018.

If you are looking for a place to settle down where it is only a quick drive up the highway from shopping, dining and parks, Woodhaven may have a home for you.

Hello,

I am a residential real estate expert with over two decades of experience in home sales, property management and mortgage lending services. Other than a stint in the military, I have lived my entire life in southeastern Michigan, where I am proud to have been born and raised in a real estate family. My father was a very well known and highly successful real estate agent, investor and instructor. Much of who I am I owe to him.
If you are looking for a knowledgeable, dependable, hard-working and accessible realtor to help you find a home that suits your family as well as an investment that is going to work for you, you'd serve yourself well giving me the opportunity to serve you.
