Welcome mortals and ghosts

Hadwen Park is a Worcester neighborhood known for its garden-style cemeteries, hiking trails and peaceful waterways. Several burial sites, both religious and public, sit within this southside neighborhood, decorated with sculptures and stained-glass windows. The dead rest here peacefully, but the living find it just as nice. People move to Hadwen Park for its rolling, grassy streets, suburban feel within the city and easy access to highways like Interstate 290 and Route 146. “It’s a family-driven neighborhood,” says Tony Economou, associate with RE/MAX Vision in Worcester and former city councilor.

Stunning places to rest eternally

Hadwen Park has a handful of Worcester’s most beautiful burial sites. In Hadwen Park, which sits on the city’s southern border next to the town of Millbury, you’ll find several burial grounds. The Catholic Notre Dame Cemetery has mausoleums with stained glass windows, the B’nai B’rith Cemetery of Worcester serves the Jewish community of central Massachusetts and the city-owned Hope Cemetery developed around romantic ideas of nature, art and death. Today, any Worcester resident who passes away is entitled to burial at Hope Cemetery, even if their loved ones can’t afford it.
