About Elizabeth
Elizabeth has been interested in real estate since she was a kid with a paper route and got to see other peoples’ homes every day as she walked the neighborhood. She has always been interested in where and how people live. She grew up in Maryland, took a short sojourn up north for college and her early career in software. She returned to the DMV where she has been a NoVA resident for almost 30 years. She raised a family here and became involved in various related school PTAs, scouting, summer swim, and her church as she worked to survive the "teenage years" with her husband, two kids and various cats and dogs. She serves on the board of a local non-profit, Amy’s Army – Cancer Relief, which helps families affected by cancer.
She bought her first condominium in Arlington when she was single in her twenties and kept it as a rental. Her husband and herself bought a single-family home in Vienna more than 20 years ago. While her kids were young, she was able to turn the one rental into a business of three investment properties with long term tenants, and a short-term rental vacation home.
Along the way she became a realtor when she had to to stop shopping for herself but could not stay away from the market. She gets great satisfaction helping first time home buyers and sellers through the stressful process of making their transition to a new home, knowing they had everything they needed to make the right decisions along the way.
She loves educating first time investors about the current market so that they can determine the best value for their investment dollars whether it is a buy-and-hold property to rent, or a fixer-upper to flip.
She enjoys helping people in all stages of life making that next move whether it is upgrading as the family gets bigger or downsizing as the nest gets smaller. Every client has a unique set of wants and needs, knowledge and strengths, and timeline for getting through the process of buying or selling real estate. One of her strengths is in balancing that emotional side of "home" with the cold hard side of financial value.
A real estate transaction is always complicated and there are many parties involved from the loan officer that can write an initial prequalification letter, to the title clerk that files that last piece of paperwork. She can help you navigate that process, refer the right experts when you need them, and make sure you have all the information you need to make informed decisions along the way.
