About Laura

A friend recently pointed out to Laura the parallels of her passion for helping at-risk foster kids find their forever home and her passion for doing the same with her real estate clients. It seems silly that she missed this connection but it makes perfect sense! Her whole working career has been dedicated to this purpose and she truly loves what she does!

Growing up, she and her family often went camping and her family nicknamed her “Woody” because she just absolutely loved the great outdoors. Her husband and she share that love, and they’ve passed it on to their boys, Gavin and Brayden. They take every opportunity they can to go on adventures together and spend time in nature. Their kids love riding their dirt bikes in the forest, lake time and camping, just like her husband and she did as kids.

She knew from a young age that she wanted to have her own business. Growing up, she was a little entrepreneur, although she didn’t know the word at the time. Her sister and she had a playhouse in the backyard that her dad had built them and she would invent things or paint rocks in there and then try selling them to their neighbors. She also tried charging a membership fee to the neighborhood kids to enter the playhouse. She realizes now that she was a natural leader, but at the time, her sister just thought she was bossy.

She inherited a strong work ethic from her parents. Her mother was VP of Financial Management for a large bank and her dad was a manager at an ice company. One of the best perks about that was he brought home a truck load of snow for her birthday in June one year. They had a big snowball fight in their yard in Phoenix when the temperature was over 100!

Her childhood was nearly idyllic except for one thing; her mother was diagnosed with cancer when she was nine years old. She battled the disease throughout most of her younger years and passed away when she was twenty. She was a rock – for years no one at her workplace even knew that she was sick until the very end. She watched her go in and out of treatments, hospitals and surgeries, but she always thought she’d get better. She’s a carbon copy of her, so it was hard. She passed away on Christmas Eve of her Junior year in college.

A month after her mom passed, her father was laid off from his job due to a buyout. To keep busy he got a job in the plant department of a large grocery store because he loves plants and interacting with people. She stopped in one day to have lunch with him before returning to college and she met his manager – the man who hired him. The image is embedded in her memory: she watched him walk around the corner of an aisle from forty feet away and she said to herself “I’m going to marry that man.” And she did. They’ve been married 21 years and she couldn’t be happier.

Her husband grew up in the real estate world – his parents were both brokers and he got his license a few years after moving to Arizona in 1995. She got hers right out of college and shortly thereafter quit her full-time job as an Event Planner for the Fiesta Bowl and never looked back. Greg’s company is a hard money lender and the largest wholesaler of foreclosed properties in the Valley. Additionally, they build spec homes, rehab properties and own and manage vacation rentals and rental properties. This gives them the opportunity to literally have their hands in every aspect of real estate and allows them to share a vast amount of knowledge to help their clients in most any situation.

She has a huge heart for giving back to the community with a focus on helping at-risk kids. One day at a local Starbucks, she noticed a flyer on the bulletin board that spoke to her...it read “Make a Difference in Children’s Lives”. It led her to being a state-appointed volunteer board member where they review foster care cases and make recommendations to the judge for their care. She’s also worked with and support two other nonprofits that help at-risk kids: Future for Kids and Arizona Helping Hands.

The parallels of helping at-risk kids and helping her real estate clients is now very evident to her; she has a fanatical dedication to finding the perfect home for them. The most important thing about being a real estate agent for her is maintaining her clients’ trust and confidence and ensuring that she is their number one advocate in all of their real estate endeavors. She’s never been in it for the sale and has talked clients out of purchasing a property that was ultimately not the right fit. She genuinely strives to help her clients make the best decisions for themselves and their family.
