P.S. 282 Park Slope School is an International Baccalaurete school for pre-K to fifth grade students. The school is located at 180 6th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11217. Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade attend the Park Slope neighborhood school. All students receive complimentary breakfast, lunch, and afterschool meals at a public school. Students may request a vegan option, and milk, peanut butter, jelly sandwiches, hummus, and pretzels will always be available. In 2022, the city's new mayor, Eric Adams, began promoting plant-based diet in New York public schools that he credits for improving his health. The school's mission is to instill a thirst for knowledge in every child. Teachers enforce a strong academic curriculum in math, English, Science and social studies. The science program builds investigative skills. Social studies allow students to make sense of the world. Math helps students master problem-solving skills. English gives students structure and practices revising and editing. Teachers understand different learning styles and work to adapt to the student's needs. For example, during the pandemic, the Brooklyn principal found a way to help her students navigate the remote learning atmosphere through virtual storytime.

The school preparation for students seems important. They try their best to get the students ready for high school by providing after school. The school is very diverse you can find almost any race there. Spirit week was also fun. The school also provides a dental program for students. Students get called to get their teeth cleaned. Honestly it was a great School

My child is in G&T which is white and Asian and lacking in any other diversity but I don’t think that is the school’s fault. I hate that, but again I don’t think that is PS 282 I think that is the old G&T system. so I have a particular viewpoint but lack of diversity in G&T aside im very happy at 28...

Enthusiastic thumbs up. All I wanted out of kindergarten was for my son to like school, and think learning was fun. Check and check, but he's also learned so much and become much more independent. He learned to read in his class and is tearing through books, and he can write whole paragraphs. It's k...

Excellent. Great experience so far. Good school community, involved PTO, and our daughter has grown as a reader, writer, and learner.

We are local parents who love 282. The culture has undergone a dramatic change since Mr Hoke took over. He is a great leader who cares about his student, parents and teachers. Anyone would be lucky to get a seat at 282
