GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It hasn't been bad at all, I just wish they added more classes relating to whatever major you want to participate in, for example if I wanted to become a doctor, I'd want a health science or some sort of medical class, if I wanted to be a cosmetologist, a cosmetology class, etc.

It is a good school if you're in the collegiate programs that the DISD offer. If you're not any of those programs enjoy being in the clubs that the school offers or even clubs. Make friends with your teachers they will help to get into college.

Not a bad school, but far from the best. I had a couple teachers that were good and understanding but I also had a lot of teachers who thought they were entitled. They can never be wrong and they'll do anything to prove a point. The academic is decent when it comes to some teachers' teaching. A lot of people can agree with that if the adults treated the students with more respect than the school would be a lot better because the adults act to much like children.

"Cultivating lifelong learners prepared to culturally engage in an evolving community" is the school mission statement. However, culturally engaging at Hillcrest involves rampant antisemitism. Jewish students are attacked, ridiculed, threatened and bullied and the administration does little to nothi...

A grown adult teacher hit a student! She bucked up to the student and hit her after multiple times. The school is now blaming the student even after there being video and multiple witnesses. Be aware!

The cons greatly outweigh the pros at this school. The communication from the school is very poor. You will get an automated phone call every time there is testing or someone is "sick", but you will not get any information from the school about anything else unless you hunt, dig, and harass. We are...

We transferred to another DISD school. The IB program was a ton of homework and as we started applying for colleges, they really didn't care unless students are at the top. If students are involved in activities, it is very difficult to get home from practices and complete homework. I guess if your...
