It's a great school with a good environment. There's a place for a lot of people whether it's in clubs or sports. The teachers are mainly good except for some that choose favorites and blatantly show during class.

I spent four years as a student in Woodson, my experience was mostly good, but it could have been better. I made friends, participated in sports and extracurriculars, so in no way was I ever isolated. I never witnessed bullying first hand, but that didn't mean there wasn't uncomfortable situations. There were a handful of teachers that seemed to pick on students for not acting as expected (and I don't mean they were misbehaving, the students tended to be shy or quiet and for some reason that irritated the teachers so they were sarcastic or rude towards the students, putting them on the spotlight more often than even other students who were more inclined to participate). This last academic year (2023-24; I was a 23' graduate) a new class for African American history was added, but unfortunately the teacher acted inappropriately made the students (majority black) pretend to pick cotton from the floor as she acted as their "master." Woodson isn't bad, but I wouldn't go back.

W.T. Woodson High School is reputed for strong academics and diverse opportunities. Some highlights include a wide range of courses, dedicated teachers, and a vibrant extracurricular scene. Challenges may include a large student population leading to less personalized attention. Workload management could be improved for a better balance.

An excellent learning environment with teachers, guidance counselors and administrators who are engaged with their students on all levels and care about their success. All three of our kids had a great experience, both academically and socially. Lots of clubs and opportunities to volunteer and feel...
