GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I enjoy my learning at D.H. Conley High School. It has a very safe environment and good learning conditions. The worst parts of my experience at DHC was blending in with the other students due to coming from a different county. At DHC most students know themselves because they have been classmates since the first grade. This makes it really hard for "outsiders" to make friends. It took me a year before I could easily make conversations with other students. The best part about my experience was finding people with the same mindset and interest that also relate with mine. This helped me get to know more people and easily make more connections. There is always a place to fit in at DHC. What I would like to see change is the acceptance of new students. I feel like special clubs can be created for new students to meet with their peers and have meaningful conversations to build a better relationship.

The school is very safe. The teachers and staff are wonderful and they offer many different AP courses as well as dual enrollment. Wish the advisors helped more, but they have too many students to work closely with.

I really enjoyed D H Conley though my high school experience was really hard with COVID-19. I was not able to really meet anyone, being I was new to the area. This was hard for me, the counselors were a great help. I just wish we were made aware of the scholarship process early on. I was not able to apply for the full ride, for now I guess.

As a parent, watching my child go from loving band and having the best days at school to quitting band and coming home crying is something I'd never thought I'd see. My son feels very unwelcomed and decided the only thing he could do to cut down his stress was to quit the one class he loved and exce...

If your child is late by 2 seconds or 20 minutes they are sent to ISS and miss the entire class period. The only benefit to them is they are marked tardy instead of absent, but zero instruction takes place for them at that time. The school is also over-crowded.

As a parent of two graduates (2016 & 2019), I don't agree with all the negative comments here. Conley has the highest standardized test scores and highest graduation rate in Pitt County. Student and parent involvement is good. No school is perfect.

Overall, it's been a very disappointing experience so far. I feel surrounded in a learning environment full of unmotivated students that praise teachers who make them do nothing, and dislike teachers that actually enrich their learning. While some teachers are great at what they do and are very pers...
