GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I'm a high school senior, I think that HPHS is very accepting school of other cultures and heritages and is usually very open-minded and willing to learn when it comes to topics like that. I also like how safe the school usually is.

I liked that Highland Park High School very well prepared me for college; their curriculums are similar to college level courses and they have many AP options. I'd like to see more diversity in the school.

FOCUS on the arts is a program that many people will never have experienced in their high school career, but HPHS made that a core memory for me.

A very average to slightly above average school comprised of mostly very privileged students. Athletics department is very weak, much more support for boys’ teams. Help for adhd students is basically non-existent. My child had a few great teachers that we really appreciated, art and drama department...

Fantastic high school in every respect - quality of faculty, course offerings, extracurricular activities, diversity and inclusion, and overall experience. We have had three children graduate from HPHS and they have each become successful in their chosen career paths and made lifelong friends here....

Truly exceptional high school. Wide range of class offerings. Very strong fine arts department. No need for dual enrollment as they offer college level math classes. The teachers are engaging and responsive. A+

We have had an amazing experience at HPHS thus far. I have found that there is something for everyone if they so choose to be involved. The academic choices are offered at different levels to accommodate levels of learning. The majority of teachers have out of the box ways of teaching the curriculum...
