From kindergarten through 12th grade, Hoboken Charter School fosters an inclusive learning community for all students through an individualized learning path. By keeping its student population small, strong and meaningful, relationships are developed between students and educators where every child has a voice in their education. During the lower school years, students explore social responsibility focusing on justice, service and diversity. In the middle school years, these lessons are applied beyond themselves to their broader communities and peers. Using these life lessons, the upper school puts the core principles to work through direct action, advocating for change in the real world. In March 2021, a new high school building was unveiled and connected to the existing lower and middle school site on Washington Street, bringing one united home to Hoboken Charter School. Now, all students can engage and support one another and their obligations toward a more just world.

Only have experience with Kindergarten/1st grade levels before leaving. It just wasnt for us. Please dont be fooled by first impressions because the day to day is not what you think it will be. The lack of funding is a real problem and it impacts the students. They just dont have the resources and options actossy the board that fully funded public schools offer and how they handled remote learning during the pandemic was AWFUL. I highly recommend sticking with public schools especially in Hoboken the teachers are more qualified and they truly are fully equipped to offer the best education. This is not the "private school education without the pricetag" everyone thinks it is. Its a mediocre education at best that actually cost us far more money than regular public.

I love the one on one experience you have with teachers. You build a close relationship that you would not have if you attended a big high school. The students however are a whole different story. Have a positive mindset and attitude when coming to this school.

As a collective the school fails. The school offers little to no opportunity and lacks in discipline as well as having almost an entire new set of teachers each year. Although these things drag the school down, the staff (most of them) provides students with any and all help, academic and other wise.

As a young Black girl, I attended this school for a full month and felt that I experienced discrimination from the principal based on my race; her behavior towards me was quite aggressive. The school lacks organization and structure, with over 30 students crammed into a small classroom. Additionally...

If you are prepared for the endless money grab and begging letters then this is the school for you. The more you donate, the better your kids will do. Teachers are very left wing and if your child does not show these tendencies, they will be belittled and told their wrong.Worst mistake we made putti...

Fantastic school. Super strong leadership and amazing teachers. We have two children in the lower school, and we love the education they are getting. Teachers and administrators really care about the kids, and teachers teach to each individual childs level, not just to the middle. Couldn't be happie...

My children have loved their experience in the grade school. It feels like an expensive private school. Any parent who's child wins the lottery would be crazy not to try it. Our experience has been amazing! Every teacher and staff member cares about the children and is engaged in making sure they ge...
