GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The best part of my experience at Holly Springs High School has always been playing basketball. The sport culture is extremely friendly and welcoming. The worst part of my experience has always been not only the back of diversity but also the lack of acknowledgement towards the minorities here at the school. During events like black history month we barely get anything more than a measly announcement on the intercom we have a small event during lunch on the last day of that month but even then it's planned and executed by the black students. This school has been involved in many racial incidents involving some of the non black students on the lacrosse team calling players on another predominantly black school in our conference many racial slurs and comparing them to different animals. The school just gave these students a slap on the wrist by telling them they couldn't play for the rest of the season but it was almost over so it didn't even matter. This is the biggest thing I want.

Good communication with teachers, easy to email them. Good biweekly email updates from school. Sports are well organized. AP classes are diverse. Parking for juniors should be expanded, and bus service takes a while. Just starting to navigate college application process, so will be interesting to see how helpful resources for that are. 2nd semester AP classes are more rushed since they have to get through all material before AP tests in May (school doesn't let out until 2nd week June).

My overall experience at Holly Springs HS was good. The school itself is not very competitive compared to other wake county high schools like Enloe HS or Green Level HS so it is easy to shine if you're smart. The teachers are relatively nice and will give you extensions if you have a genuine and valid reason. Some teachers will even extend dates or get rid of assignments to give students "mental health breaks". It's a good and safe school, I don't remember ever getting a school shooting threat or being in any "code red" situations.

This is our first year and due to Covid restrictions we haven’t had any real interactions. However, teachers I have reached out to our very helpful, understanding, and always make themselves available.
