GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Wayne was a good school, full of diversity, inclusion and culture. Most teachers understand their students and create great bonds that we will forever be grateful for. College readiness could be better, but for what we have I would say the teachers do their best to teach proper curriculum.

My experience at Wayne high school had its ups and downs. This school is very adamant about their kids education. The teachers here are very involved with helping me grow and expand my knowledge. When I don't understand things I can count on my teacher to explain it to me thoroughly . The only downside of the experience I had was the drama of the school. The people there were very messy and everyone loved to gossip. Other than that nothing bothered me, my teachers were great and very helpful for my future.

The best part of my experience at Wayne High school is the opportunity to go to Miami Valley CTC. I liked being a part of Girls' Tennis and Debate teams. I liked that there were opportunities to join Honors and/or AP classes if I wanted to. Maggie Shanayda taught Honors Biology class really well. She showed me and other students how to ask good questions, become detail-oriented, develop critical thinking skills, become open-minded learners, take in a lot of information, etc. The worst part of my experience is the culture of this school. Specifically, the way that students act in the school. Though, I don't think it's as much of the administration's fault, as much as it is the parents and/or guardians. I think that the administration, teachers, staff, and other adults are putting genuine efforts into preventing fighting, bullying, and other areas needed of growth. After one school year (2020 - 2021), the Debate team has received as much attention as sports in the school announcements.

Great students, respectful and eager to learn. Teaching staff is very helpful as well as office staff, to me as a first year teacher. Starting my second year now. About 2% of the student population does not want to learn, attend class, or take tests. Don’t let that discourage you. We will bend over...
