Honestly, it was a good school. I think so you could enjoy it a bit more would be to have more color in the school, more expressive. The walls were really plain and sometimes it felt boring, but overall not a bad school. The people I met there were good, and I wouldn't change that experience at all.

As a small school, Mar Vista has some obstacles when it comes to funding and programs, when compared to the rest of the district. However, the staff and administration make a valiant effort to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for the students, regardless of funding. Personally, as the class president of the band program, I have seen other schools in the district, and its clear that the VAPA programs here at MVH are less funded.

Academically speaking, this school has taught me so much. Not only that one of my AP Environmental teachers is the reason why i'm interested in majoring in Marine Biology. In all of my high school experience i've taken a total of now 4 AP classes.

This school has a few outstanding teachers who are committed and effective, but the majority are jaded and burned out by the Sweetwater District system and the low standards of the surrounding community.
