The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

I enjoy the plays the Shades Valley theater perform for the school. There are lots of elective classes and opportunities for both Shades Valley and JCIB students. A major issue I have is the pacing for classes at Shades Valley. In elective classes they tend to be held back a lot by the majority of students the students not doing their work. For the few students that care to pass the class it feels like a waste of time, sitting there waiting for others to catch up.

The only issue is the disparity between the ib deparand shades valley so some resources they get we do not and vice versa. I have had good and bad times in the school but I do not regret attending the school or anything.

Good overall, but there needs to be more communication with parents and students with announcements and not to wait till the last minute for the announcements. The school has good programs and lots of options for career activities on what you are interested in.
