Founded in 2006, Biscayne High School accepts students between the ages of 16 and 21 and special education students up to 23. The school is specifically designed for students struggling to get their degree or who have already dropped out of a traditional public school. Biscayne offers both morning and afternoon sessions to accommodate students who are employed or who have family obligations. Biscayne’s faculty is highly certified in helping to facilitate the high school completion process by providing instruction, mentorship and tutoring based on a student’s individual needs. Once enrolled, staff works with each student to create a personalized academic plan that will lead to graduation. Biscayne’s dropout recovery program engages students through relationship-focused, high-tech and rigorous customized learning experiences. Courses are based online so that the student progresses and earns credits at an independent pace. The school provides counseling for employment, higher education, and social and health support. Biscayne is accredited by Cognia, AdvancED and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
