Jersey City Community Charter School is in the Greenville section of Jersey City and enrolls students from kindergarten through eighth grade. The charter school has operated for over 20 years, and there are separate buildings for the elementary and middle schools that are about 2 miles apart from each other.
As a charter school, JCCCS has an application process for enrollment. The school uses a model curriculum that employs Common Core State Standards and New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and is designed to keep the school on par with other districts in the state. In addition to athletic programs like basketball, extracurricular activities like anime and math clubs, a school newspaper, robotics and a yearbook club are also offered.
The student-teacher ratio is average for Jersey City School District public schools. Faculty aims to build a strong relationship between home, school and community and increase parent involvement to help students grow socially, cognitively and emotionally.
