The youngest students in the Farragut public schools system attend Farragut Primary School. Serving students from kindergarten through second grade, Farragut Primary is a larger campus with just over 1,000 students and 17 classrooms for each of the three grades. Even though the school is larger than other schools in the district, the class size is still small, with one teacher for every 16 students. Students at Farragut Primary school are challenged with the Tennessee state curriculum for reading and math and are testing as proficient. A library on campus is available as a resource for all Farragut Primary students, and classes visit the library weekly. For students needing extra help, a school counselor is on staff to assist and direct parents to additional resources if needed. Farragut Primary School provides a smooth transition from preschool programs into an elementary school environment. Teachers are well trained and support the littlest learners with age-appropriate activities that reinforce academics. Physical activity is crucial to the development of young children, and Farragut Primary offers a physical education program in addition to daily time outside on the playground. From academics to physical and social development, Farragut Primary School is a great place to begin a lifetime of learning.
