The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Overall, mostly good. There is not a lot of diversity, but there is some. The staff works hard and long to give us a good experience. There are some problems in the communication between counselors and administration and the rest of the school and parents, as many times there are unclear expectations of what teachers are supposed to do exactly, but at least it is pretty safe and I have never had to worry about that. The students are overall welcoming, so it is a pleasant envornment.

2 years of my schooling at Garrard County High School were virtual. They were the worst years of my life. My freshman and senior years were great--I had good teachers and a ton of fun with my friends. However, my high school friends are telling me that a conspiracy theorist who isn't certified to teach is teaching chemistry. I have been sent a picture of locked gates barring the bathroom doors. I'm glad I got out when I did and I'm worried for my younger friends and siblings.

The teachers/staff I felt really cared about me. They were very friendly all 4 years. I had great friends from grades k - 12. I played basketball and baseball. The basketball program had issues since I had a different coach every year. I did not play my senior year and put my focus on baseball and pitching. Our team one district and region runner up my senior year. My coach made connections for me to be scouted. I played in a junior college team for 2 years and receive a associate's degree. It was a perfect community college for me. Then i received a 80% scholarship to a D1 university. The college and career readiness program at GCHS was new my senior year and our principal gave it his all to succeed. My experience at GCHS was absolutely incredible. 2015 graduate
