Riverside High School (Riverside), located at Upper Belmont Place in Leesburg, guides and educates approximately 1,800 ninth through 12th grade students from throughout the Lansdowne on the Potomac neighborhood Riverside’s stated mission is “empowering all students to make meaningful contributions to the world,” and nearly 90% of Riverside High School graduates go on to higher education. The school’s strategic goals are to develop critical thinkers, communicators, collaborators, creators, and contributors; cultivate a high-performing team of professionals, and effectively support student success. Riverside students, proud to be the Riverside Rams, can opt to participate in career and technical education programs including marketing, business and information technology, personal finance/marketing, family and consumer sciences, technology, engineering, and business. Student-athletes compete in a range of Group 3A athletics including fall sports such as cheerleading, cross country, field hockey, football, golf, and volleyball. Winter sports include basketball, gymnastics, indoor track, swimming, and wrestling. In the spring baseball, crew, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis and track and field are offered. To further develop their talents, Riverside students can choose from nearly 100 extra-curricular activities such as academic honor societies, language clubs and honor societies, Distributive Education Clubs of America, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, music and theatre programs, and an award-winning marching band.

Riverside High School is a fantastic school with supportive staff and proud student body. The school is a safe place for students of all types and its diversity is facilitated by a large assortment of clubs and activities for students to participate in.

Riverside High School is a diverse community with highly experienced teachers. The school has a café, school store, and vending machines through the halls for students to purchase snacks throughout the day. Many students are involved in extracurricular activities, as there are many club and sport options.

Each year, it's a mixture with good teacher/bad teachers. There are some truly great teachers and there are other who are slow in updating the gradebook (parentVUE) or slow to respond..but even those teachers have great quality so I had to use the phrase "Bad Teachers". Some truly amazing teachers, but too many ineffective ones that used covid as an excuse to do nothing - even for AP classes. Administration is oblivious to their incompetent staff and faculty at best - at worst, they just don't care. I had to take on the job of case manager for my oldest, demand act...
