An all-boys Catholic college prep school founded in 1925, Cathedral High School has a total enrollment of 650 students in ninth through twelfth grades. This private school’s mission, based on the philosophy of St. John Baptist de La Salle, is to provide a human, religious and academic education to boys in the Los Angeles area. Described as not just a high school but a community, Cathedral High sends its top students to Ivy League and Tier 1 universities with 86% of students going on to four-year college after graduation. Its Alumni Association is dedicated to inspiring alumni to “return to serve.” The enriching educational resources at Cathedral High include strong academics, a math and science academy focused on STEM education, clubs, sports, a student-run television station and student theater productions. Prospective students in seventh and eighth grades can spend a day at the school getting a sense of what it would be like to attend while also receiving Cathedral High School apparel and a free lunch. Renovations at Cathedral High in the past 15 years have added a new building with classrooms and a gym in addition to a new performing arts center with classrooms, studio space and a 350-seat theater.

Cathedral has helped me overcome a lot of things in life, like diversity , adversity etc. The school is best at trying to make people feel accepted and understand that you should give before receiving. The best parts about the schools is how involved they get you. The worst is that lots of students are extremely racist and if theirs no other admin or adult around, things that should fly will simply be let go because the higher ups aren't around to supervise.

Provided new opportunities for growth for young men in the area. Gives young men excellent guidance as they approach their senior year in regards to the whole process of applying to college. Several meetings are held where college is talked about.

Both of our boys attended, thrived and graduated from Cathedral (2013 & 2016). Both played varsity sports (Swimming & Water Polo). Both were accepted to top universities. Both graduated from Top Universities. Now...both are well into their respective careers. Cathedral provided a base of brotherhood...

My son transfered in from La Salle in pasadena. He was harrassed the first day he stepped on campus from a group of boys from 18th street gang trying to extort money from him. He feels lucky his second year was cut short due to covid

Race based profanity directed at Black students is common place. Our son and several of his friends were the object of such a verbal assault which to this day the administration still fails to acknowledge. The facilities are mediocre and the school is close to homeless encampments. Better not to pay...

If I could give no stars i would. Your child will learn to swear and cuss. If gender/race slurs offend you, there is a whole new world of hurtful here. My Catholic hopes were dashed to the ground by acceptable behaviors. If you're looking for peace, keep looking.
