GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The school provides many opportunities for extracurricular clubs and higher-level classes, but in the past few years has experienced high levels of safety issues due to swatting.

Most of my high school was spent at home because of Covid. It cut my 9th grade year in half, and I spent sophomore looking at a computer screen. Then, my junior year Covid still took away my in-person schooling. We spent the year wearing masks, and getting sent home from school 2 2 weeks for possible outbreaks. Lastly, my senior year was draining.

It was admittedly very "cliquey," as if there were multiple schools within the one school. If you weren't in sports or super advanced in terms of academics, it was hard to make friends. They had good resources, and were usually very good with their students, but I only survived because I spent half of my time at CVGS my last two years.
