Walton High School is different from any other public school I have been to. It has its good parts, but I cannot name any good experiences that outweigh the bad. I've never felt so out of place at a school. I never thought my ethnicity mattered, but it was clear that it did here. I wasn't used to snarky comments about it, so I was taken aback. I thought it would get better, but it didn't. As I apply for colleges, I know I want to be far away from here. This school is more focused on academics, being a comprehensive school, but it definitely has taken a toll on its students' mental health. I hope they grow, and that others have better experiences.

What i like about Walton is that is prepares students academically. Classes are very rigorous and we score higher than the national average on many mandated tests. Sports are very well funded and fun to watch. What I don't like is that resources for student mental health are few and far between, and clubs are hard to join.

So far, I have had a great experience at Walton. The best part is the academics, and the worst part is the fact that it is school.

Some teachers tend to require students so many homework every single day. It would make these teachers’ lives easier because they don’t need to think about efficiency and effectiveness improvements in a limited time given to each teacher for the class. Very competitive school. Most teachers are great (although, there are exceptions). They do an excellent job preparing kids for college. Awful. Swamped with work, I have never wasted my life like this anywhere else. I have learned next to nothing and am so stressed with 5 hours of homework a night on average that I have had to sacrifice everything else in my life. This is a fantastic school! My sons learned so much about so many subjects and had a ball with their friends all 4 years they were at Walton. Their teachers were all very good, not a bad one in the bunch!We are so lucky to have lived in the district!
