Monroe Elementary School is a place where kids learn, grow and have fun. The teachers and staff at Monroe Elementary work to provide kids with an environment that puts learning first, keeping children focused on their schoolwork and learning to be good citizens. The school offers a traditional curriculum with coursework in language arts, math, science and other subjects. Physical education classes help children learn the importance of being active and staying healthy, with a goal of instilling a love of activity for life. All students have a weekly music class, and some students participate in the school’s band and chorus programs. Students also get to spend time in the school’s computer lab each week, learning to use technology that will help them throughout the rest of their lives as they have fun interacting and learning on educational websites. Monroe Elementary students are encouraged to join some of the school’s extracurricular programs including the safety patrol, reading bowl team and Jr. Beta Club. Being involved in these groups helps kids build social and leadership skills while learning new things. Monroe Elementary School, home of the Bears, gives kids a solid start to learning and life.
