GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Mt. Dora High School is a great school overall. The staff are friendly and will help you with what you need, however, it takes work to get in touch with them sometimes. The principal is one of the best I have had at any school. She is very involved with her students and staff and works hard to ensure the school runs smoothly. Some teachers are excellent, and some are not, but you can tell they are passionate about their job and ensuring their students succeed. One thing I would like to change is huddle time because it is a waste of time for most students and only helpful for a select few.

This school (and lake county as a whole) allows bullying, and promotes a victim-blaming culture. If you’re an athlete, you can do and say whatever you want with no consequences. If you’re part of the “Mount Dora old money network” you pretty much run everything here.

I would rate my experience (four years) at this school very poorly. If you have the means, I would certainly recommend sending your child someplace else. My experience was generally negative. If you or your child wants to go to university and be successful, especially leaving the country/state or de...

I think my school is a good school overall but some of the teachers don't even do their job right! most teachers just write notes on the board and have us write them down and then we're done for that class period. teachers aren't teaching as much as they should. I am in 10th grade and it was the sam...
