Located at 5300 Berkley Drive in the Old Aurora neighborhood of the Algiers section of New Orleans, the Alice M. Harte Charter School is considered one of the city’s top open-enrollment elementary schools. The school is part of the InspireNOLA charter network, which operates eight different schools in Orleans Parish. Alice M. Harte Charter School serves children from pre-K through eighth grade and enrolls approximately 760 students. The school features a special education program, accelerated classes and foreign language electives. The Louisiana Department of Education gave the school an overall letter grade of “B” for the 2018-2019 school year, according to its website. However, Alice M. Harte Charter School earned high marks for student progress. To strengthen body and mind, the school offers club sports like soccer, softball, flag football, baseball and cross-country track. It also provides daily transportation to and from campus, has an after-care program. The school accepts 25% of its students from a half-mile around the school, 42% from some surrounding ZIP codes and the rest from throughout the parish. Alice M. Harte Charter School states that it strives to create a positive co-educational environment where the scholars of tomorrow are inspired today.

My child was not safe at this school. We had to file a report as well as call the police. It was the teachers and staff that made it unsafe. Please stay away for the safety of your children
