St. Luke's is a coeducational elementary and middle school which is divided into a Lower School and an Upper School serving students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. It is located on the same block of The Church of St. Luke in the Fields at 487 Hudson Street, a two-acre landmark block in the West Village of Lower Manhattan in New York City. It is one of the top private, independent primary schools in New York City. The student population of St Luke’s School is 307, with pupils able to receive one-on-one attention if needed. With a 7-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio, St. Luke’s offers a challenging curriculum that serves students of all faiths. The program balances skills and critical thinking with collaborative learning and interdisciplinary study. St. Luke’s promotes openness, accessibility and collaboration as children gain an understanding that our world is a global community and become caring and responsible individuals who grow in service to others. The school focuses on all subjects that are core to the student learning experience. Classes are offered on a trimester basis, and the vast majority of St. Luke’s School graduates are admitted to outstanding high schools.
