GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Some of my best memories from Carl Sandburg High School came from the clubs I joined and the people I met through them. There are also some memorable and caring teachers I had who are genuinely passionate about teaching, but it sometimes is a hit or miss depending on the subject.

My best parts of experience for my school have been the amount of extracurricular and electives they offer, as someone who has a passion for arts I've been exposed to so many mentors and resources.

Sandburg has mostly great and helpful teachers and a nice array of academic courses. There is truly a class for everyone. Some teachers are unhelpful and grade too harshly but don't tell you what they want for a good grade. The bathrooms are clean enough but not that great to go into since groups of kids vape in them. The food is pretty bad it's mostly bland and unseasoned. I also hate how the North building is not connected to upstairs so you have to go downstairs to go back up again. Overall, Sandburg is a nice school just needs a couple of changes.

I moved to Orland Park because of their great school district. I’m proud to say both of my sons have graduated are attend their respective universities. The faculty is great to work with and resources are readily available for students.

This high school is fabulous. I was concerned because the school is literally huge with so many wings in the buildings along with the size of the student body. But the students are given individualized attention and time to meet one-on-one with teachers. Strong emphasis working in groups in most cla...
