Perry Elementary School is home to nearly 800 students in prekindergarten through fifth grade. Built to serve the growing community of Perry, the elementary school has modern facilities, student-friendly technology centers and opportunities to engage in STEM programs. The elementary school’s motto is focused on success, and teachers work closely to help students find it in the classroom. A before- and after-school program called P.A.C.E.S. (Perry’s Academic, Cultural and Enrichment Services) is available at the elementary school to provide a safe environment for children. They can participate in various educational enrichment and recreational activities or may complete their homework during these times. In addition to traditional classroom learning, students at Perry Elementary School can expand their learning opportunities through the district’s Talented and Gifted (TAG) program, which offers challenging coursework activities to continue pushing learners forward. While the Perry school district does offer busing for students of the school, elementary students are also invited to participate in a Walking School Bus program that helps keep children safe while walking to school and crossing busy intersections.

Students receive a good basic education. They will leave here with the ability to read, write, and do basic math. The school does have a good special needs program, as well as some honors and advanced student opportunities. The environment in the elementary tends to lean to the protectionism side, w...
