My overall experience with Perry High School was great. I would come to school every day excited to see my friends. I would enjoy the classes I had because I knew my friends would make them great. Teachers help out, more than others. Something I would like to see change is the school's competitive spirit, so we can succeed at sports.

Very diverse. We weren't really challenge. There was a lady that constantly encourage bad behavior and the students that acted out would occasionally get rewarded, and the well behaved students didn't get much.

I liked how welcoming and caring the teachers and staff were. They were open to helping you if you needed it. One thing that I would like to see change are a couple more volunteer days. Some kids aren't driving until their junior or senior year and they don't have a ride to be able to volunteer for the amount of hours that is needed in order to earn a silver cord at their graduation ceremony so they have to ask a friend for a ride. Another thing would be a more understanding physical education teacher because one of them is a little rough on teenagers. The other one is a lot better however, when it comes to that.

This is an excellent school. Perry has a partnership with Des Moines Area Community College, affording the students the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school for free. Perry has study time built into each students schedule each day. The advisor in this study time is a teache...
