Perry Middle School is located on the northeast side of Perry, only a few blocks from Perry High School. The middle school is home to around 400 students in sixth through eighth grade. At Perry, parents are encouraged to actively participate in their student’s education. They are pushed to make learning a priority in their children’s lives and actively engage in conversation about school work and success. Communication materials from the school are supplied to parents in both English and Spanish. The student body can participate in a variety of sports seasons through the Heart of Iowa Conference. Perry Middle School also offers students a variety of extracurricular activities such as band, choir, drama, speech and mock trials. Students are invited to engage in many fun activities, including dances and volunteer activities. Field trips include local historical sites such as Hotel Pattee, the Carnegie Library and the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines.
