GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Douglas Southall Freeman High School is a great school to go to. They offer some challenging courses. Academically, freeman has great teacher that are willing to help out. We even have a leadership center. Our school moto is to make great leaders of tomorrow.

I love freeman because it is a very diverse student body, and you get to hear different peoples perspectives while having in class discussions.

One of the best parts of my experience at Freeman was the staff at the school. Every day they came prepared with a good lesson for our class. Along with that the sports teams were always fun to watch and play for. The two worst parts of my experience were the cleanliness of the cafeteria and bathrooms.

This is a fabulous school for all young scholars and I love learning from the amazing staff and the sports programs are fabulous and I couldn't have whished a better school because the school sprit is amazing!

My child is mixed race. This is a good school, but racial prejudice is still an issue, as is the case throughout America. I'm white and there is simply no reason for anyone to use the "N" word, and as frequently as my kid heard it. To broad brush the entire school as sub-performing though is unfair,

I would rate it a seven out of ten.
