GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It is very good for kids interested in the magnet program and who want to learn more in-depth about the environment and animals. I love the programs I would just wish that kids were more class choices within the magnet. Outside of the magnet, it is a normal high school, I do feel like there are a lot better class variety and opportunities within the school.

My experience at Sparrows Point High School has changed over the years I have been there. Overall, my experience has been superb. I would like to see change in the students. The facility and staff at SPHS put their time and effort in, in order to make the school safe and a good learning environment. Rarely though, we will have occurrences of un-safety in the building. I feel the staff needs to discipline the students more.

It is on the smaller side even though it houses the SPECIES magnet program and there are students from all over Baltimore County, it is still a very community oriented school. The music program is very good, offering students classes in chorus and instru...
