They do a good job keeping the different grades separated to help reduce the amount of bullying. There is a jazz band, symphonic band, and tech club. The facility itself could use some renovations but overall not a terrible experience.

Our experience at SMS has been good. The majority of the teachers are great, very responsive and caring. The school does promote independence so 6th grade can be a challenging for students who are not very organized. Honors classes are large and the special education department needs revamping with...

The kids were completely out of control and the guidance and office did absolutely nothing about the constant fights and bulling going on. I am very glad I got out of that school and am now in high school. Also some of the teachers were awful at there job.

My son has ADHD and is new to this school as a 6th grader. He has been struggling with being bullied, treated with disdain by several teachers and overall needing help adjusting to the increased expectation of responsibility that the school demands.
