GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My overall experience at Athens High school when well, each year i learn more about the school and also got involved in a few things. I had great experience with all my teachers and administrators, they were all kind and always pushed me to do my best and helped me whenever i needed.

Athens is a school that doesn't have much, but makes a big impact on you. They will make you feel at home.

Athens is overall a pretty good school but like anything it could use improvements. Everyone says it looks like a jail but how the students are treated really makes it feel like a jail. There is no events where students can get involved. Troy high definitely has a better student community.

We decided on moving to Troy due to the great schools. We decided on Athens over Troy HS after driving around and seeing both schools. My child felt more comfortable about attending Athens. We have not been disappointed with the school at all. The teachers and staff have been wonderful and engaging....

They have a variety of clubs to choose from and a wide range of electives, as well. We did have a bullying problem last year, but the AP addressed it immediately and th...

I graduated from AHS in 1995. It seems that from reading many of the comments that not much has changed. It was a great school on an academic level, although the AP were favored. The average kids were kind of left to flounder and left to feel less than worthy. The issues with teenagers now that I ha...

I am graduating Athens this year and overall my experience here has been great, a 9/10. Almost all my teachers were great and I've had little to no complaints, and none of them were terrible. Most of the the teachers I've had are dedicated to their jobs and were helpful when I needed them (so were t...
