GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I have been going to this school for almost 6 years. Our culture is very strict and academic focused. The best part of being here is the safety. Compared to neighboring high schools, our school has no violence or fights, as well as many less threats. a bad thing, though, is that our school is too academic driven. Many students feel overwhelmed and overworked, and feel as if the school only cares about the students for their grades to boost the ratings of the school, rather than their wellbeing.

Great place to go to prepare for the workload of college and get an idea of what you might get into if you plan on going to a 4 year, however, its a very strict and stressful environment. I hope the rules of the school loosen to feel like a more comfortable environment in the future.

University Preparatory is a good school in the academic sector, but they lack heavily in the social aspect that is important in secondary education.

University Prep has been good overall.Pros: Most of the teachers care deeply for the subject they're teaching and about their students. The educational quality is top-notch and distractions in the classroom are minimal so I really feel like I'm learning in all of my classes. The coursework is diffic...

Where do I start... too many requirements, too strict with uniforms, and too much homework. The school does not promote individuality or support students. I was constantly being called at work to take my child a belt...... My child is very thin, and finding fitting clothes was hard. Also, you'll spe...

This is easily one of, if not the best school in the county. My student isn't overwhelmed by the amount of homework he has, as some have complained. He actually seems to have far less than I remember having at a very competitive, private high school. The majority of the complaints are not actually r...

As a former student, UP discourages individuality and promotes unhealthy work habits, rooted in fear of public ridicule. Don't be fooled by the high college "preparatory" spiel, a large percentage of my 2015 high school graduation class has since dropped out of college, because, believe it or not, p...
