GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Franks W. Cox highschool was one of the best experiences that I think I could have had. It provided me with many opportunities in sports, clubs, and making new friends. The teachers teachers, coaches, and staff are amazing and always make you feel like you're in a safe place. One thing that I would like to see change about Cox is maybe some remodeling to the school but other than that I hope nothing else changes.

The main thing about my school is the lack of connection between teachers and students. It makes it feel like coming to school is a chore. Also, the lesson plans are missing hands-on activities, classes feel like its just lectures. We fill out surveys every season about the school but even after filling them out nothing changes.

I love being a student at Frank W. Cox High School. I have made valuable connections with my teachers and been connected to many clubs. I am passionate about the arts and it's sad to see my school district taking arts in schools away.

They find excuses for the white children and because of their parents money do not receive the back end of their actions. They choose to represent their school by not add...

Cox is the best high school at the beach; endless opportunities to expand your learning.

Very poor. As a learning disabled teen, there were precious few experiences that made my years spent at Cox high school an effective opportunity in preparation to become a productive and well-integrated member of society.

Cox is one of the best schools in Virginia Beach, and Virginia Beach has the best schools in the area. There is a new principal. He is very involved with activities and sports to keep students excited. The only problem is there are a lot of affluent families, and sometimes they seem uppity.
