GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

La Quinta High School is a great school that is academically oriented and has a top ranking within the school district. In my experience, La Quinta has challenged me in many ways, pushing me towards improvement and full preparation for college. Although I believe the school could incorporate a more lively student-campus environment, the school overall is a place that I am happy to attend.

The best part of La Quinta High School is undoubtedly the staff members. Teachers are supportive and want to see you succeed. However, a major shortfall of this school is the lack of preparation for post-high school pathways that do not involve attending college. Trade schools and direct entry into jobs after graduation are seldom mentioned or promoted by counselors.

The teachers were really kind! I had Sr. Kikawa and he was always encouraging our class to learn Spanish every day with a smile on his face. He also interacts positively with students and makes fun jokes.

My son is enrolled here as a freshman. I have a nephew here starting 10th grade. The principal is female so not sure if prior reviewer from 2022 who mentioned a male was referring to one of the 4 vice principals. School seems well organized and divides students up by alphabet for counselors to ensur...

The principal and the majority of his supporting staff are unsupportive of the teachers when they ask f...
