Fondly referred to as the "Crossroads of Connecticut," Cromwell is a small town 14 miles south of Hartford and 28 miles north of New Haven. The Connecticut River borders the community, offering many residents waterfront views. A major highway, Interstate 91, runs through Cromwell, with two exits in the town. Nature enthusiasts flock to River Highlands State Park, with bluffs overlooking the Connecticut River from a 150-foot vantage point above the water. The park is home to campsites, trails and riverside views from trails that wind through trees. Local golfers practice their swing at TPC River Highlands golf course.
