Englewood is more than an original Denver suburb
Bates-Logan Park, located within the city of Englewood, is one of Denver’s original suburbs, offering its residents a blend of old-school character and modern development. The neighborhood’s history can be traced through the various architectural styles on display, with traditional builds right alongside sleek, modern developments. “Englewood is a good mixed community,” says David Heine, broker associate with Keller Williams Realty and longtime resident of the area. “It’s a business center in some ways, but it’s still an excellent place for families too — and neighborhoods like Bates-Logan Park are proof of that.”

Lifelong residents update traditional homes with modern renovations
There is a wide range of single-family homes in the Bates-Logan Park neighborhood — though it is dominated by mid-century ranch styles, bungalows and traditional two-story homes. The extra space afforded by a more suburban location means that homes often have front porches and yards — though these features are typically modest in nature. Though there are a few newly built residences, the median age for homes is around 1950. “You have a lot of older homes getting renovations here,” says Heine. “It’s a popular spot for investors right now, and that’s part of the reason — but you have a lot of lifelong residents renovating as well.” Single-family homes typically range from around $450,000 to $1.5 million. Townhouses are also widely available, ranging in style from traditional to sleek and modern. Townhouse prices can range from $325,000 to just over $1 million.
The curb appeal of this Bates-Logan Park home is off the charts.

Easy access to Denver via the RTD light rail
Major roadways such as US Highway 285 and US Highway 85 are easily accessible via Hampden Avenue and Santa Fe Drive. The 7-mile drive to downtown Denver typically takes around 20 minutes, though traffic conditions vary. “It’s a great place to be because, while it’s still a suburb of Denver, it’s not directly attached to the city,” says Heine. “So even without going too far out, you have a bit more room to work with and a bit less traffic to deal with.” The Englewood Trolley connects residents to the nearby light rail station, along with CityCenter Englewood, the medical district, and the civic center. The Regional Transportation District, or RTD, has bus stops located throughout the city.

Pirate's Cove Water Park offers summertime fun, while the mountains provide winter skiing
Nearby attractions include Pirates Cove water park, which features water slides, pools, and a lazy river. The neighborhood is situated between Cherry Creek State Park and Roxborough State Park. “You have the mountains right there as well,” says Heine. “So, the options for things like hiking and biking – or skiing and snowboarding during the winter – are pretty much unlimited.” Cherry Creek State Park is also popular for swimming and sailing in warmer months.
The neighborhood shares its name with Bates-Logan Park, which is a central gathering place offering open green spaces, playgrounds, and walking paths. The park sometimes hosts Neighborhood Nights events featuring food trucks and live music. Summer concerts take place about 2 miles away at the CityCenter Amphitheater. “It’s a growing place, and more and more jobs are starting to be located here,” says Heine. “The community is starting to develop its own personality and identity, and you’re starting to see more community activities and engagement as a result.”

South Broadway is an extension of Denver's offerings
Residents have access to a growing shopping and dining scene along South Broadway — an extension of Denver’s Broadway strip. “You’re starting to see some boutiques and more unique places like that,” says Heine. “It isn’t there yet, but it’s starting to develop and become more of its own destination.” Local favorites include the lively diner Breakfast on Broadway, which offers outdoor seating. For a wider array of options, Littleton sits just under 5 miles away and includes a historic downtown with taverns, bars and clothing boutiques along pedestrian-friendly Main Street. Cherry Creek Shopping Center, 6 miles from the neighborhood, features designer brands like Burberry and upscale dining options like 801 Chophouse. Within 3 miles of the neighborhood, shoppers will find Walmart Supercenter, Target and King Soopers.
