Rural roots meet city conveniences north of downtown
Bass-Leesburg Civic is a mixed-use neighborhood just over 3 miles northwest of Downtown Fort Wayne. Varied businesses and casual eateries are scattered throughout the area alongside residential subdivisions. The region has rural roots, but today, the primary growth comes from industry activity in the northern tip of the neighborhood. “These businesses are easy for locals to commute to, so plenty of employees want to live in the nearby subdivisions,” says Andrea Gates, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker.
Subdivisions offer unified streetscapes, each with a different house style
Most Bass-Leesburg Civic subdivisions were developed as planned communities on flat, winding streets flanked by sidewalks. Houses tend to be in the same style throughout each subdivision, and some communities, such as Log Cabin Park, are even named for their predominant architectural style. Built starting in the 1970s, Bass-Leesburg Civic homes vary between Colonial Revivals, mid-century ranch-styles and contemporary cottages. Most are priced between $100,000 and $400,000, and prices vary depending on house size and condition.

The Tower Bar and Grill is a popular community gathering spot, and locals can listen to live music at Deer Park Irish Pub. The shopping center also has other big box chains like Lowe's, Walmart Supercenter and Kohl's.
