Research Forest is populated and shaded by pines, oaks, elms, ashes and many other varieties of mature, native trees. The winding, brush-lined roads and towering foliage give the neighborhood a feeling of seclusion, which is one of the many benefits of living about 30 miles north of Houston, off Interstate 45. “It’s just beautiful here,” says Amy Lampman, a Realtor with EXP Realty, who lives in the area. “There are miles and miles of walking trails. There are sculptures sprinkled throughout the community. There are tons of locally owned shops. The Woodlands looks like a movie set. It’s that well planned out.”

Research Forest offers newer traditional homes
In a small and intimate community like Research Forest, neighbors know each other’s names. This is a residential area people seek out when they’re in the market for newer traditional homes with lots of space to spare. They’re built on parcels of land large enough to accommodate inground swimming pools, playscapes, trampolines and sprawling patios.
Properties commonly feature fenced-in courtyards and arched doorways with ornamental wrought iron gates. Though, you may not be able to see these unique eccentricities while driving to the local Whole Foods Market, H-E-B or Kroger because many homes in Research Forest are in gated communities or concealed behind palatial houses, tall privacy fences or strategically planted bushes and trees.
The average sale price hovers around $600,000. A three-bedroom, three-bath may cost about $550,000, while a four-bedroom, three-bath might go for $650,000. Homes here currently sell after eight days on the market compared to the national average of 41. “The homes do sell very quickly because we have top schools, a family-friendly environment, a very low tax rate, no HOA fees and it’s beautiful to look at,” Lampman says.
